Amy Bowtell (born September 16, 1993) is a Irish professional tennis player. Her highest WTA singles ranking is No. 560, which she reached on November 21, 2011.[1] Her career high in doubles is No. 652, which she reached on November 21, 2011.[1] Bowtell is the highest ranked player from Ireland.[2] She has been the member of Ireland Fed Cup team since 2009.[3]

Personal life

Bowtell grew up playing in Greystones Lawn Tennis Club in Co. Wicklow.[4] Bowtell is currently coached by Garry Cahill.[5]

Career highlights

To date, Amy has reached one ITF final in singles, a $10,000 tournament held in Chiswick, Great Britain on 1 August 2010. In the final, Amy lost to Tara Moore 3–6, 4–6.

2011

Amy won the first title of her career in doubles, an ITF $10,000 tournament held in Amarante, Portugal. Amy was partnered with Yasmin Clarke and they defeated Katharina Negrin and Constance Sibille in the final 6–2, 6–3.

Amy competed in an ITF $10,000 tournament held in Gijon, Spain in both singles and doubles.[6] Lucy Brown is her doubles partner. In the singles, Amy lost in the semifinals to Diana Stomlega 6–1, 6–7(1), 5–7, after suffering a foot injury at the start of the final set. Amy won her second career ITF title in doubles. Bowtell and Brown received a walkover in the final over Amanda Carreras and Andrea Gamiz.
